"Call it sin. Call it salvation. Call it a shot of soul with a bourbon chaser." Kentucky has always been middle of the road politically, culturally, and geographically. To some, it's a state that never quite fits-in. For it's artists, this has never been an issue. They take advantage and draw their inspiration from a variety of influences. Just a few hours south, you can find the birthplace of soul music. Venture a little farther, and you're in ground zero: the birthplace of the blues. Coming from the north, the sounds of electric blues and Motown echo down into the styles of Kentucky's many successful artists. On their upcoming EP, aptly titled "Loose Lips," MojoThunder hopes to reinforce that diversity even further. By infusing rock 'n' roll swagger with the spirit of American roots music, their blend of bourbon-soaked rock 'n' soul arrives heavy with thick grooves and southern charm. The melodies ascend the heart into spirituality with a sense of rebelliousness, to remind us that hell is always around the corner. The EP was recorded in a span of two days at Barrick Recording Studio in Glasgow, KY, by the man himself, Dave Barrick. In a deliberate attempt to catch the energy and excitement of the quartet's live performances, all five tracks were recorded live with few overdubs. You can feel and hear the size of the massive live room, almost as if you were right there as it was being recorded. "Loose Lips" will be available for your enjoyment on all streaming platforms on June 7th.
