Casey Miller and Megan Wise are the power duo known as Barnyard Stompers. The two have collectively played in many legendary roots music outfits including The Hillbilly Hellcats and The Bop Kings. They have teamed together in order to combine several generations of Outlaw Country, Texas Stomp, Blues, Rockabilly and Dark Hillbilly, creating a new sub-genre known as Backwoods Twang. Barnyard Stompers definitely have a style all their own; however, they hold true to the stylings of the pioneers of roots music such as Johnny Cash, Tex Ritter, Bukka White, Blind Willie McTell, Bill Monroe, Roy Rogers, Waylon Jennings, Carl Perkins, Hank Williams and more recent artists like Scott H. Biram, Flat Duo Jets, Black Keys, Dropkick Murphys and Junior Brown.

In less than a year, Barnyard Stompers have released a seventeen track debut CD, The Way-Gone, Wild and Rockin' Sounds of Barnyard Stompers as well as their new release, Outlaws with Chainsaws, and have played well over two hundred shows. The duo has performed in front of fans in over 20 states. The Stompers will be touring Europe in October and November of 2013.

Casey Miller plays a mean guitar and harmonica as he sings in the traditional stylings of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Elvis Presley and Robert Johnson. Never taking himself too seriously, his kazoo skills always stir up a laugh from fans. Megan Wise plays all things percussive and produces a big, full sound as she pounds the skins in her very own style that must be heard and seen. Her vocal style is reminescent of Kitty Wells and she can also swing a steady rhythm on acoustic guitar. Folks say that Barnyard Stompers sound like a full live band to which they reply, "We ARE a full band." The power duo certainly hold their own as they run circles around most four or five piece bands. Those who are into true rocking, down-home, roots music owe it to yourselves to check out Barnyard Stompers.

That stain on the lead singer’s overalls could be barbecue sauce, but it’s probably blood. Such is the raw outlaw-garage-country-psychobilly-punk appeal of Barnyard Stompers, the Denver-based ne’er-do-well duo that’s going to burn down Bill’s Place in a free, early evening Sunday show. These guys have an album called “Outlaws and Chainsaws,” after all. Oh, you know what? That’s barbecue sauce AND blood.
