PRISON BOOK CLUB (Shepherdstown, WV)
"For fans of alt-country twang (conjuring up the vocals of Lucero meeting the sonics of legends like Old 97s and Thin Lizzy) and lyrics bringing to mind a sad bastard drinking alone on the couch, Prison Book Club is the definitive act (at least from a regional perspective) in its genre. Miller's lyrics, especially on heartbreakers like "White Plain," make one believe him, even if they might get the sense that he's putting up a front just to restrain the aching that just won't quit." - Graffiti

"The album is an absolute breakthrough for Matt and it is a testament to the singer/songwriter’s version of the American dream. Work hard, regardless of the obstacles in the way, and success can be achieved. And The Matt Woods Manifesto is a success from beginning to end. Congratulations Matt, for producing such a fantastic album!"

TOFUJITSU (Charleston, WV)

Bands aren't all that different from marriages; sometimes they need a good shakeup to keep things interesting.
Local music scene staples Sean Richardson and Karen Allen have done just that in their three-year-old indie rock duo, Tofujitsu. Richardson, who fronted Strawfyssh in the '80s and '90s, and Allen, who led Crazy Jane around that same time, have each taken up new roles with the band; Richardson has honed his chops as a guitarist and singer, and Allen has become a drummer.
