New Year weekend stylistic mashup! A little bit of something for everyone.
Trielement Trielement is a trio that began with the idea to take instrumental music, imagined with non-traditional ideas, and push the barriers of conventional music. The result is a blending blues, jazz, funk, electronic and rock. This fusion is approachable with a tasty experimental vibe. Their work has given them opportunity to open for international supergroup, The Aristocrats, Nashville bassist/composer, Sean O'Bryan Smith, in 2013, and Neil Zaza in 2014. As of late 2015, Trielement will feature regular session atists in their live shows. This show will feature Tim Smith. Tim is a talented and highly creative keyboardist that was featured locally (Charleston) with 4tet, who ran the entire Miles Davis "Bitches Brew" album.

Tape Age Based in Chicago's southernmost suburb (i.e. Louisville, KY), Tape Age is the culmination of guitarist Sam Scholten's experimentation with baritone guitars, tunings, synths, loops, etc, focusing them, channeling them through songs. Finding new ways to express things. Having a blast rocking out. Drummer Dave Roberts goes way back with Sam, but now brings with him a vast swath of experience playing music ranging to Kinks/Replacements- type gritty rock to Miles Davis' electric period records and so many points in between. Doug Litton, bass, brings up the bottom end. He is also a member of long time Charleston band Watt 4, and goes way back with Sam. The three guys share a friendship and history in music.
A new album, The Reflection Will Guide Us, was released in October 2015. The album has been receiving regular radio play on two Louisville stations.
