Black Checker - Formed in 2012 by longtime musical collaborators Jim Cordes (Vocals, bass) and Tony Porreco (Guitar, Vocals), Washington, DC’s Black Checker is a band on a mission to instill that same fiery dopamine buzz you felt the first time you heard tracks like The Replacements’ “Bastards of Young” and Ted Leo’s “Me and Mia”. Joined by veteran DC drummer Pat Frank (We Were Pirates, The Mean Ideas), the trio throw down catchy blasts of punk-pop served via barroom grit.
